Editions#
Currently there are two editions of disco - BASIC and Full.
BASIC is focused on building information dashboards on big screens or desktop PCs. It is mainly a flexible display tool, but of course you can still interact with web pages that are shown on the disco window. The control features of disco BASIC are limited to switching views from the outside via a call to the REST API. The sync feature works between BASIC editions, but a BASIC edition cannot follow a Full edition. However, a Full edition can follow a BASIC edition. disco BASIC has no plugins or other integration features.
Full gives you all features of the respective software edition, buttons, parameters, interactivity and the plugin framework. This allows more complex integration solutions and also custom solutions with specialized plugins. Use disco Full if you need to design custom user interfaces quickly or if you need special integration solutions.
