Introduction
disco stands for "display & control". It is a flexible software system built to be a "missing link" in systems integration. The software runs on Windows, Linux, macOS and even a Raspberry Pi. You can pick the matching hardware or have an "appliance" configured to your requirements -- i.e. to drive 4K displays or use a hardware system that is specified for 24/7 operation.
With disco you can:
-
Build custom dashboards and information screens for studios and newsrooms quickly. You can create different information views and switch between them as necessary.
-
Combine multiple web pages, news feeds, different clocks (from different time zones), webcams and other content in custom views. Have a "playlist" of URLs to show different web pages alternating. Leverage big screens to create your custom information space. Embed custom web pages from other systems or "bridge software" and display them within disco.
-
Touch control. Run disco on a touch screen and create interactive views. Combine status displays, tally lights, buttons, clocks, images and web pages to create your custom control surface.
-
Integrate with other systems -- both broadcast and IT. Plugins connect disco to other equipment, can run specialized protocols or even hold custom logic for a certain project. For example, using the Ember+ protocol, disco can integrate with broadcast equipment like mixer desks, telephone hybrids or audio processors. Using a REST-API, it can also interface with IT systems. And if a certain integration is missing for your project, we can develop custom plugins for that.
